In partnership with Huron Pines, Kirtland\u2019s Warbler Alliance, U.S.
Forest Service, and Michigan Audubon, the AuSable Valley Audubon (AVA) Chapter conducts our fith year of Kirtland\u2019s Warbler tours in our most eastern section of the Huron-Manistee National Forest called the Pine River Management Area (PRMA).\u00a0 A description of our inaugural tours in 2016 with several pictures and quotes from very satisfied birders may be seen in our AVA web site in a report by one of our guides. Guided Kirtland\u2019s warbler tours are the best opportunity to view this endangered songbird, as nearly all Kirtland\u2019s warbler nesting areas are closed and posted against public entry during the nesting season.\u00a0 Kirtland\u2019s warblers are rarely seen in Michigan outside of their nesting habitat.<\/p>\n

Tour dates- May 17, Sunday (Monday raindate) immediately following the end of the Tawas Point 2020 Migration, then followed by five consecutive Saturdays -May 30th,
June 6th, 13th, 20th and June 27th, 2020. (Saturday only)\u00a0<\/strong>
Rain or poor weather makeup dates will be the following day (Sundays).\u00a0 You may call Camp Inn Lodge.\u00a0 We will also send out Facebook notifications if you \u201clike\u201d our Facebook<\/strong> you will receive at registration.\u00a0 <\/strong>Just indicate \u201cgoing\u201d <\/strong>in KW Event.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Sign in Time is 7:30 a.m so please arrive a few minutes early.

A short introduction and video about the Kirtland\u2019s will be shown.\u00a0 Then, participants will follow the guide and carpool in their own vehicles to the U.S. Forest Service KW PMArea also in Oscoda.<\/p>\n
